Discovery Report Views
There are currently two types of discovery report views:
Content Report Views: A view which charts data from a Content Report generated through Data Collection
Heatmap View: A view linked to a specific Data Set. A daily diff will be performed on how many files were created and modified in the data source
This article covers how to create each of these view types of report views in simflofy-admin for viewing in TSearch. Discovery Views can be found at
[TSearch]/discovery/view/[shortname]
1) Click on Discovery Views under the Analytics sidebar menu.
2) Click Create New View you will be prompted for the following:
- Type: Content or Heatmap
- If Content is selected. A list of available reports will appear.
- Once a report is selected, a list of report versions will appear. Report views are tied to a single version of a report.
- If Content is selected. A list of available reports will appear.
- Shortname: The name that will be used in the url for the view in TSearch. It is best to keep these simple. The field will not allow non-alphanumeric characters or spaces.
- Display Name: The name which will show in the header for the view.
Heatmap View
Heatmap Views are tied to specific data sets. Upon creation of the view, Simflofy will read through each of the runs of a data set, searching for a count of documents that were modified, created, and deleted between each run of the set.
Upon each run of the data set, the related view will be updated. The user can select a custom date range for the data display or use the whole range of time.
Content Report View
The accordion menus contain configuration options for global configuration, the left sidebar of the view, as well as available charts.
The available tags should populate based on the type of data contained in the report (ie, you should not see duplicate data charts and tags if the report doesn't have any).
Overview of Options:
Break down sidebar by repository: Available if the report has multiple repositories (it ran using a job group). The label will show the total values as well as repository values in a collapsible menu
Storage Unit for Sidebar: The unit which will be used for storage based information.
Break down charts by repository: The chart will have the ability to click on a pie slice and drill down to individual repository values.
Include content breakdown: The chart will have the ability to drill down and show a content type distribution.
Default Storage Unit for Charts: Sets the storage unit for appropriate charts.
Color Scheme: Pick a single color, and a complement will be automatically generated. Any additional colors will be chosen randomly from available palette, avoiding repeats.
All chart options are available for individual charts, and will have these options applied to them upon saving.
Upon adding a chart, another panel will appear on the right-hand side. On the panel you can set individual configurations for charts. Note that global configuration always wins. The order determines the layout of the charts on the view:
1 2 3 4
will become
1 2
3 4
